I thought I would be cool and smart by applying the latest firmware on my nokia e61 - lets just say it didn't work out perfectly. For some reason the bottom half of my phone the special characters now come up with arabic characters. Very strange! In the digital age, especially when you travel quite often your mobile phone is very vital to stay on top of things. Losing functionality or making things more difficult is unacceptable. I should've waited and see the results of others before applying to my phone...
I did some Google searching and looked at howardforums.com and found others you experienced the same issues. It took awhile but I did find a pseudo-solution on the averageadmin blog site. My keys aren't 100% back to normal but they are close enough. Moral of the story is do your research (homework) before installing new firmware or major revisions to your critical hardware.
