Forbes released "Ten Steps To A Less Stressful Commute" and surprisingly there wasn't any mention of telecommuting. Here's a thought - why not eliminate commute stress and most likely improve productivity at the same time by working from home? I guess that might have not really been the point of the article, but I'm still surprised it didn't get mentioned. I do find their suggestion of upgrading your car as one step a funny one. Yeah my commute sucks, but damn I drive a beautiful luxury car ;)
In the article it also states "it takes Americans an average of 25 minutes to drive to work," I know family and friends that would kill to have that type of commute. Although they do work in New York City, Washington DC, Atlanta and Los Angeles probably the four worst traffic cities in the country. When we lived in NoVA, my commute was 25 minutes or so on a good day, but I still wouldn't trade my life as a Telepeep for it.
